This series of records relate to the New York National Guard and New York Guard units stationed in Buffalo, N.Y. (Army-Navy Publishers - Atlanta, Ga.: Army-Navy Publishers, Inc., 1941). These 'yearbooks' of the 27th Infantry Division's infantry regiments were published while training at Camp Wadsworth, South Carolina. It is a good source of photographs and biographical information on higher-ranking officers. The New York National Guardsman was a magazine published monthly from April, 1924 to August, 1940 when much of the New York National Guard was federalized for duty. Most years listed all of the officers in the NYNG and their unit affiliations many years have a name index. The New York State Adjutant General Reports are the reports given to the New York State Legislature by the head of the New York National Guard, the Adjutant General, or AG. These should not be confused with the regular reports put out by the New York Adjutant General during the same period.
